Beginning
Our story began in 1882, when a small group of believers founded the Third Christian Reformed Church of Paterson. As the congregation grew, they felt called to serve in new places. In 1914, the church relocated to Haledon, becoming Trinity Christian Reformed Church.

Move to North Haledon
In 1971, the church family moved again, building a new facility in North Haledon, where we continue to worship today. Not long after, in 1988, Trinity CRC merged with North Haledon CRC, uniting as
Covenant CRC.

Recent History
As the years passed, our congregation sensed God leading us toward a fresh identity that better reflected our mission in the community. In 2019, we embraced the name Rockpoint Community Church. The name reminds us that Christ is our solid Rock, and also reflects the landmark boulder on our property that has long been a familiar point in the neighborhood.
